About the treatment

Colour, shape and small gaps, corrected in porcelain

Veneers are wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-coloured porcelain bonded to the front of the teeth. They can change the colour, shape, size or length of a tooth.

They are a non-surgical answer to chipped or cracked teeth, stains that whitening cannot lift, small gaps and uneven tooth sizes.

Why patients choose it

  • Minimal preparationUsually less than 1mm of the tooth surface is removed, and prep-less veneers are used whenever possible.
  • Designed for your faceDiagnostic wax-up models guide the proportions before any tooth is touched.
  • A preview firstTemporary veneers let you see and adjust the result before the final porcelain is made.
  • Made by a master ceramistDigital scans and photos guide the lab on shade, shape and translucency.

What’s involved

From first plan to final fit

  1. Design

Dr. Doaa studies wax-up models of your teeth to decide the dimensions that suit your face, and how much tooth structure, if any, needs to change.

  2. Scan and photos

An impression or digital scan and a series of photos are sent to the ceramist with the result we are aiming for.

  3. Temporaries

While the porcelain is made, over about one to two weeks, temporary veneers preview the outcome and show what to adjust.

  4. Final veneers

The permanent veneers are bonded once you are happy with how they look and feel.

Questions

Before you book

Anything else on your mind? Ask Dr. Doaa at your consultation, or write to us.

How long does it take to get veneers?

Usually two or more visits. The porcelain takes about one to two weeks to make, and you wear temporary veneers in between.

Do my teeth need to be filed down?

Usually less than 1mm of the surface is removed so the veneer sits flush. Whenever possible, Dr. Doaa opts for prep-less veneers to preserve your tooth structure.

Can veneers fix stains that whitening cannot?

Yes. Veneers cover the front surface of the tooth, so they can correct discolouration that does not respond to whitening.
