About the treatment

Fill the gap before it causes problems

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth with a false tooth, called a pontic, held in place by crowns on the teeth either side. It is fixed: once fitted, only a dentist can remove it.

Even when a gap causes no discomfort, it is worth closing. Neighbouring teeth can shift into the space, upsetting your bite and making gum disease and jaw pain more likely.

Why patients choose it

  • Fixed in placeA permanent alternative to a removable denture.
  • Colour-matchedPorcelain, metal or both, matched to your natural teeth.
  • ComfortableFitted under local anaesthetic, no more uncomfortable than a filling.
  • LastingWith good care and hygiene, a bridge should last 10 years or more.

Questions

Anything else on your mind? Ask Dr. Doaa at your consultation, or write to us.

Bridge or implant?

Both replace a missing tooth. A bridge is only possible when the teeth either side are strong enough to support it, while an implant needs no support from other teeth. Dr. Doaa explains both options for your case.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your case, but normally two to three visits.

Does it hurt?

You are given a local anaesthetic, and the procedure is no more uncomfortable than having a filling.
